A 57-year-old man is recovering after a dangerous boating incident on Georgian Bay near Brandy’s Island.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP say officers were called to the water around 2:15 Thursday afternoon after the operator of a vessel was thrown overboard. Police say the unmanned boat continued circling in the water before striking the man.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with what are described as minor injuries.

Emergency crews from Georgian Bay Township Fire Department also responded, and were able to safely stop the runaway vessel.
