The shelter-in-place advisory for the Little Lake Park area of Midland has been lifted.

On Thursday, members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a potentially armed individual and issued a shelter-in-place advisory for the immediate area.

The individual has now been taken into police custody. There is no threat to public safety and members of the public may resume their regular activities.

A police presence may remain as the on-scene investigation concludes. OPP asks the public to continue adhering to any direction given by officers on scene.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP recognizes the significant emotional impact that receiving a shelter in place can cause and thanks members of the public for their patience and vigilance.
