Caught napping at the wheel: Alliston resident charged with impaired by drugs

Ontario Provincial Police say they were called to Young Street and Industrial Parkway in Alliston around 10 a.m. Saturday for reports of a driver asleep at the wheel.

Police say when officers arrived, they detected an odour of cannabis and launched an impaired driving investigation.

A 32-year-old from Alliston has been charged with operation while impaired by drugs and failing to properly wear a seat belt.

The accused had their driver's licence suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
