Provincial police are investigating a drowning incident on Lake Muskoka near Walker's Point on Saturday afternoon.

Officers from Bracebridge OPP in Muskoka Lakes responded at approximately 4:30 p.m to a report of a boater who had fallen overboard and failed to resurface.

Police say the man, a 63-year-old from Markham, was later recovered by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and pronounced dead at the scene.

The OPP Marine Unit assisted with the response effort.

No other information was released by police, but the investigation is ongoing.
