We wanted to share an important service update for Kitchener line, Barrie line and UP Express customers.
FOR BARRIE LINE CUSTOMERS:
From Saturday, Aug. 15, until end of service on Monday, Aug. 17, Barrie Line rail service will be temporarily modified to accommodate major track upgrades. These track closures are required to make essential improvements that will support faster, more frequent GO service as part of GO Expansion.
On Saturday, Aug. 15 and Sunday, Aug. 16:
- There will be no GO train service on the Barrie line.
- GO bus service will run between Allandale Waterfront and Rutherford GO, then run direct to Hwy 407 Bus Terminal for customers to connect to TTC Line 1 to Union Station.
- There will be no GO Transit service at Downsview Park GO. If you’re at Union or Downsview Park, you can use TTC Line 1 to connect to/from GO bus service.
On Monday Aug. 17, GO train service will run between Maple GO and Union Station. GO buses will replace train service between Maple and Allandale Waterfront GO. Additionally, some regular trips will not run, please plan ahead and check schedules before you travel.
From Tuesday Aug. 18 to Thursday, Aug. 20, all train departure and/or arrival times have been adjusted. Please check your schedules before travelling to choose the departure times that work best for your commute.

Regular service will resume on Friday, Aug 21.
Replacement GO buses may depart at different times than train schedules. Plan ahead and check schedules before you travel.
Metrolinx understands that closures and service changes are disruptive. Weekend service disruptions are scheduled months in advance to accommodate work to improve and maintain our transit system. They help us build a faster, more reliable and more modern GO network for the future.
These closures provide the crew with the continuous access they need to safely complete major construction that can’t be done overnight.
