Barrie Police are investigating a reported road rage incident in which an elderly man was allegedly assaulted.

On Wednesday, police say there was a collision on Duckworth Street near Highway 400, and a male driver exited his vehicle and allegedly assaulted the other motorist.

The suspect is believed to have fled in a gold-coloured Dodge Journey.

The victim, an 86-year-old man, was treated for his injuries at the scene.

Police say the driver is a white man, possibly in his 40s, with a medium build and brown hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, a red-and-grey hat, black pants, and black-and-white Converse shoes.

Anyone with information or dash camera footage is asked to contact the investigating officer via email at 11706@barriepolice.ca or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
