Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) will increase its parking rates for the first time in more than a decade, with updated fees taking effect on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026.

The hospital announced that its daily maximum parking rate will rise from $10 to $12.50, marking the first adjustment to public parking fees since 2013.

In addition to the increase in the daily maximum rate, OSMH will also adjust its 30-minute parking rate, as well as fees for weekly and monthly parking passes.

To help support patients, families and visitors who need to park for extended periods, the hospital is introducing new discounted 5-day, 10-day and 30-day parking passes. A full list of parking payment can be found here.

New parking options designed to improve flexibility

Hospital officials say the new fee structure was developed with input from the OSMH Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) to help ensure rates remain fair and comparable with other hospitals in the region.

“The updated rates were developed with valuable input from the OSMH Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC), helping to ensure the new fee structure remains fair, flexible, and comparable to those at other hospitals across the region,” the hospital said in a news release.

The introduction of discounted multi-day passes is intended to provide greater flexibility and affordability for people who need to visit the hospital over several days.

Supporting investments in hospital parking

According to OSMH, the rate increase will help support ongoing investments in parking infrastructure and capacity.

This summer, the hospital completed a major resurfacing project in its main public parking lot. OSMH says it also continues to invest in creating additional parking capacity for visitors and hospital team members.

Parking rate adjustments for staff were implemented earlier this year as part of those efforts.
