Barrie Police have charged a motorcyclist following a collision on Churchill Drive in the city's south end on July 15.

Police say that around 7 a.m., the motorcycle was westbound between Welham Road and Bayview Drive, behind a pickup truck that was towing a vehicle on a flatbed, when the rider tried to pass on the inside as the truck turned right into a parking lot.

The rider was seriously injured and airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital. He has since been released and is recovering at home.

Police say on Tuesday, the 21-year-old from Barrie was charged with careless driving.
