Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden will conduct a limited simulation exercise based on an active aggressor response scenario on September 15, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
The exercise is designed to validate the base's emergency response plans, assess CFB Borden's ability to respond to potential threats against personnel and infrastructure, and enhance coordination between military and civilian emergency services.
Residents and visitors in the area can expect to see an increased presence of emergency personnel and vehicles throughout the day. Participating agencies include the Barrie Police Service, South Simcoe Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, and Simcoe County Paramedic Services. Personnel and vehicles may be visible both on the base and in surrounding communities.
Officials emphasize that the exercise is strictly for training purposes and does not pose a risk to the public or military personnel.
"At no time will the safety or security of Base personnel or the public be at risk."
CFB Borden says exercises of this nature play a critical role in ensuring readiness for emergency situations and maintaining strong partnerships with local first responders.
