A two-month child exploitation investigation by Barrie Police has led to charges against a 42-year-old man.
Barrie Police say their Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) began investigating after receiving reports that a specific IP address was being used on a peer-to-peer network to possess, download and share child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
Investigators executed a search warrant at a Barrie residence on Thursday, Oct. 15, and seized several electronic devices belonging to the accused.
Police allege forensic analysis of the devices led to the discovery of child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
The next day, the man was charged with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material, and making that material available.
