A vehicle fire at a railway crossing on Line 8 north in Oro-Medonte Township just before 11 on Friday morning, but a mystery for police because no occupants were located.

Oro-Medonte fire crews extinguished the blaze though the vehicle was destroyed.

Officers with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit searched the vehicle and area for any sign of the occupants.

CP Rail Police assisted with an order to stop trains from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Line 8 was closed to Warminster Road for the investigation.
