Fire at homeless encampment in Barrie

There were no injuries after fire destroyed a tent at a homeless encampent in Barrie on Monday evening.

Barrie Fire says they were called to the area of Vespra and George Streets around 9:30 p.m. to find a tent engulfed in flames and smoke.

While there were some people on scene when firefighters arrived, it was unclear if they were the occupants of the tent.

Officials say the cause of the fire is undetermined.
