A man is facing a number of charges after provincial police say they seized weapons and drugs during the execution of a search warrant at a Collingwood home on Tues., Sept 12.
Police say a pair of investigations were launched in the spring involving the same person.
The search warrant was carried out by OPP officers with Huronia West, Collingwood, Huntsville, Caledon, Nottawasaga and Southern Georgian Bay detachments.
As a result of the raid, police say they seized a loaded gun, ammunition, a pellet gun, mini crossbow, as well as a variety of drugs including suspected blue fentanyl, MDMA pills and cocaine, drug paraphernalia and several cell phones.
A 34-year-old from Collingwood has been charged with:
· Use of a Firearm in the Commission of an Indictable Offence
· Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
· Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm
· Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order x 4
· Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
· Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
· Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - MDMA
Following his bail hearing, the suspect was remanded in custody until the next court date.
