Charges have been laid by Ontario Provincial Police following a search warrant executed Wednesday at residence on Homewood Avenue in Wasaga Beach.
On February 25, police responded to the same home because of a report of an unconscious person. The victim was in critical condition and airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre.
During the search warrant, authorities say the following items were seized:
- A 9mm Kal Tec foldable rifle with three 30 round capacity magazines
- A .22 calibre rifle
- Two .22 calibre folding rifles
- A black pellet gun
- Shot gun ammo
- Brass knuckles
- A quantity of cocaine
A 46-year-old Wasaga Beach man was charged with the following:
- Aggravated Assault
- Failure to comply with undertaking
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm - Three Counts
- Careless storage of Firearm
- Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition - Two Counts
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine
The accused was held for a bail hearing and was to appear in court on Friday.
