Fall is here, which means it's time for pumpkins! If you're looking for a pumpkin patch, you're in luck. There's lots of local farms where you can pick your own pumpkin and check out a bunch of other fun-filled activities.

With October just around the corner, be sure to check out one of these fantastic farms!

1. Rounds Ranch - 1922 County Rd 92, Elmvale

If you want more than just pumpkin picking, Rounds Ranch is a fall playground. Their Pumpkin Mania event includes a tractor ride to the patch where you can pick any pumpkin, any size, for free with admission. Weekends bring even more fun with pumpkin-themed games like pumpkin bowling, pie-eating contests, and sack races.

Families can spend hours exploring over 20 attractions, including ziplines, pony rides, corn mazes, pedal carts, petting zoos, and giant slides. Don’t miss the Flashlight Corn Maze on Saturday nights in October for an extra thrill.

2. Chappell Farms - 617 Penetanguishene Rd, Barrie

Chappell Farms is open 7 days a week, making it a great place to go no matter what your schedule may be.

Their Fall Festival runs daily from September 20 to October 31 and includes admission to the pumpkin patch (yes, you get to take one home). Kids love the sunflower maze, farm lookout, tricycle track, and magic shows, while parents will enjoy the wide-open space and easygoing vibe.

This is one of the most family-friendly pumpkin patches in town, especially if you’re looking for a simple, kid-approved outing.

3. Drysdale’s Tree Farm - 6635 Simcoe County Rd 56, Egbert.

Chance are you know the name Drysdale's as a favourite spot to pick out a Christmas Tree. But did you know Drysdale’s also offers just as much fun during the Halloween season?

Their Haunted Harvest Village kicks off in October with daytime wagon rides, pumpkin picking, lawn games, and even a pickpocket magician. At night, things get creepier with the “Psycho Path” haunted wagon ride.

You’ll also find bonfires with marshmallow roasting, tarot card readers, and live entertainment. If you’re looking for a pumpkin patch with a side of Halloween spirit, this is the place.

4. Barrie Hill Farms - 2935 Barrie Hill Rd, Springwater

Known for berries in the summer, Barrie Hill Farms turns orange in the fall. From mid-September through October, you can hop on a wagon ride out to the pumpkin fields to pick your own.

They grow several varieties — from classic carving pumpkins to pink, white, and sweet pie pumpkins. The farm store is worth a stop too, stocked with freshly baked goods, preserves, and other local treats.

5. Harris Farms - 3216 George Johnston Rd, Springwater

You’ll have a hard time picking just one pumpkin from the seemingly endless rows at Harris Farms. They always have a great deal on pumpkins!

Don't be surprised if you find yourself dishing out a few extra dollars on some additional farm fresh goodies while you're there. Harris Farms also provides a charming roadside market that features a variety of seasonal vegetables, baked goods, preserves, maple syrup and honey throughout the year.

To top it all off, the Harris family and staff provide exceptionally helpful and friendly customer service to ensure every visit is a happy one.

6. Rice’s Pumpkin Farm - 640 Ellerys Sd Rd, Tiny

Rice’s is a smaller family-run farm that’s all about charm. They offer pick-your-own pumpkins, a sand hill for kids to climb, farm animals to visit, and even a sunflower field earlier in the season for dreamy photo ops.

Admission is low-cost, and kids love feeding the animals (carrots are included with entry). It’s a cozy, down-to-earth option if you want something a little quieter than the bigger farms.

7. Morrison Pumpkin Farm - 4449 Simcoe County Rd 124, Collingwood

Operating since 1985, Morrison Pumpkin Farm is a community favourite just outside Collingwood. With over 50 varieties of pumpkins and squash, you’ll have no trouble finding a unique pick.

Beyond pumpkins, you’ll find fall décor, straw bales, corn mazes, and photo displays. They even host special family programs like storytime and farming lessons on PA days. It’s a wholesome, family-first farm that makes you feel right at home.

8. Laura’s Farm Stand - 5684 Simcoe County Rd 27, Cookstown

Laura’s Farm Stand is known for its picture-perfect setup. From September 13 to October 31, the pumpkin patch is open for you to pick your own, or you can browse their huge selection of pre-picked pumpkins and gourds.

The real highlight is their five-acre corn maze, which takes about 30–45 minutes to complete. They also offer pick-your-own flowers in late summer, making it a year-round spot for photo lovers.
