Conditions of Nearby Rinks and Ski/Skate Trails

Need-to-Know Info About Current Locations

There are plenty of places nearby to get your ski, snowshoe or skate on. However, we're still in a bit of a limbo period with weather conditions, which can make it difficult to plan accordingly.

Here's a reference guide of nearby rink and trail conditions to make it easier to plan your winter activities.

1. Circle at the Centre, City Hall

Status: Open

Hours: Everyday, 10 am-10 pm

Activities Permitted: Leisure skating only

Amenities: Heated changerooms

2. Centennial Park Community Ice Rink, 95 Lakeshore Drive

Status: Open

Hours: Everyday, 10 am-10 pm

Activities Permitted:

Leisure skating: 10 am–12 pm
Shinny hockey: 12 pm–2 pm
Leisure skating: 2 pm–4 pm
Shinny hockey: 4 pm–6 pm
Leisure skating: 6 pm–8 pm
Shinny hockey: 8 pm–10 pm

Amenities: Washrooms nearby

3. Eastview Park, 455 Grove St. E

Status: Closed

4. Lampman Lane Park, 59 Lampman Lane

 Status: Closed

5. Redpath Park, 70 Carleton Rd.

Status: Closed

6. Shear Park, 21 Holgate St.

Status: Closed

7. Arrowhead Provincial Park Skate Trail

Status: Open

Hours: Everyday, 11 am-5:30 pm

Activities Permitted: Leisure skating only on trail, snowshoe/cross-country trails also open

Amenities: Fire pits, washrooms

8. Simcoe County Museum Trail

Status: In production

Hours: Tues, Thurs, Fri 6 pm-9 pm, weekends 11 am-4 pm

Activities Permitted: Leisure skating only

Cost: $10/adult, $8/children, monthly passes also available

Amenities: Admission includes full access to museum

9. Hardwood Ski and Bike

Status: All trails open

Hours: Everyday, 8 am-5 pm

Activities Permitted: Snowshoeing, Cross-country skiing

Amenities: Indoor washrooms, first aid facility, ski service shop, food

10. Horseshoe Resort (Snowboard & Ski)

Conditions: 55 cm base depth, machine groomed powder

Hours: Everyday, 9 am- 9 pm

Lifts Open: 6/6 daytime, 5/6 nighttime

Trails Open: 28/28 daytime, 20/28 nighttime

*Fat Biking trails closed

11. Snow Valley (Snowboard & Ski)

Conditions: 30-50 cm base depth, machine groomed powder

Hours: Mon 9 am-4 pm, every other day 9 am-9 pm

Lifts Open: 7/8 daytime, 6/8 nighttime

Trails Open: 20/21 day, 19/21 night

*Snowshoe trails closed

12. Blue Mountain (Snowboard & Ski)

Conditions: 60 cm base depth, machine groomed packed powder

Hours: 9 am-9 pm

Lifts Open: 11/11

Trails Open: 35/43 daytime, 27/30 nighttime

13. Mt. St. Louis Moonstone (Snowboard & Ski)

Conditions: 50-70 cm base depth, machine groomed powder granular

Hours: Tues 9 am-4:30 pm, every other day 9 am-9 pm

Lifts Open: 9/11 daytime, 6/11 nighttime

Parks Open: 3/5 daytime, 2/5 nighttime

Trails Open: 35 daytime, 27 nighttime

14. Scenic Caves Nature Adventures

Conditions: 18 cm base depth, machine groomed powder

Hours: Everyday 9 am-5 pm, select dates for nighttime snowshoeing

Trails Open: 27 km of ski trails, 10 km of snowshoe trails

*Suspension bridge open

15. Woodview Mountaintop Skating, Top of Blue Mountain

Status: Open

Hours: Everyday, 10 am-9 pm (Hours change after Jan 6th)

Activities Permitted: Leisure skating only

Cost: 2 hour admission, $16/adult, $13/youth

16. Discovery Harbour Skate Trail, Snow Shoes, Fat Bikes and Snow Tubes

Status: Set to open Friday January 11th, 6 pm (weather permitting)

Hours: Fri 6 pm-9 pm, Sat 1 pm-9 pm, Sun 12 pm-5 pm

Activities Permitted: Only leisure skating on trail, strollers and wheelchairs allowed. Skates, snow tubes, snow shoes, fat bikes, helmets and skate assist devices are all available.

Cost: $8/person, Kids 5 & under FREE
