Winter Experiences To Gift This Christmas

You Might Have Trouble Wrapping These Ones...
Experiences Christmas Gifts

Some people are impossible to shop for, especially during Christmas. Instead of buying them another tie or pack of socks, check out our list of winter experiences that make fantastic gifts for Christmas.

Dogsledding

Let's kick this list off with something really unique. Wind Drift Kennel offers a number of different ways to enjoy dogsledding including 30-minute experiences (shared and single), half-day tours, and full-day tours. If you want to surprise the person on your list who's done everything, I'm willing to bet they've never done this before.

Scandinave Spa

The Scandinave Spa is the perfect place for someone needing a digital detox. No cellphones, no cameras, and no electronics mean your tranquil connection to the spa is never broken. This is a fantastic gift option for a couple on your list or to treat yourself and that someone special.

Winterfest

Canada's Wonderland has transformed into Winterfest with shows, food, and tons of other festive fun. Every night kicks off with the Tree Lighting Ceremony and then you're free to explore everything from Christmas markets to ice skating on Snow Flake Lake. This is another perfect experience to share with someone special for Christmas.

Horseshoe Resort

Consider this one your safety. If you're not sure what someone might like to try, Horseshoe Resort has so many winter activities they're sure to find something they'll enjoy. Skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, fat biking, snowshoeing, skating, and mini snowmobiles are just the beginning. They have lots of overnight packages too so they can enjoy everything along with fantastic food and drinks at places like the Crazy Horse Sports Bar & Grill.

Skating Trail

The good news is that we are working on our Skating Trail for this season! The bad news is that we need more cold...

Posted by Simcoe County Museum on Thursday, December 20, 2018

The Simcoe County Museum's new skating trail is just under a kilometer long and takes you throughout the museum grounds and forest path. The $10 ticket price also includes admission to the museum gallery and even snowshoe rentals for the snowshoe trail. A family adventure or a romantic outdoor activity? It's up to you.

Ice Fishing

If anyone on your list shed a tear at the end of the fishing season, why not surprise them with a day or two of Ice Fishing on Kempennfelt Bay? There are two places to rent ice huts in the area: Goy Fishing and Bear Point. The fact that you're only doing this to get your husband out of your hair for a weekend will be our little secret.

Snowmobiling

There aren't many better ways to explore Muskoka than on the back of a Snowmobile. Even if they have never been snowmobiling before, Back Country Tours has them covered with free winter riding gear and full safety & riding lessons when you book a tour. They also have luxury cottages to rent that comes equipt with a hot tub, cozy bedroom, and both indoor and outdoor fireplace.

Sleigh Ride

Romantic sleigh ride at the end of a beautiful day

Posted by Back of Beyond Equine Centre on Monday, March 4, 2019

Back Of Beyond doubles down on the old Christmas song with a two-horse open sleigh in Muskoka. Another perfect family outing or a romantic getaway through a snowy wonderland. Each experience starts with a farm tour where you'll get to meet and brush a pony followed by a snowy sleigh ride through the forest and finishing off with hot chocolate and marshmallows by a warm fire.
