Whether you're on the front line, working from home, or maybe just spending more time at home, your coffee intake might be up (or down). Caffeine has both positives and negatives attached to it so here are a few things you should know about that sweet black nectar.
There are a few possible serious side effects of drinking too much coffee including (but not limited to) raising of blood pressure, increased risk of heart attacks, insomnia, and indigestion. Drinking more than 4 cups (8 oz) of coffee a day has been also linked to early death.
We all love a few cups of Joe but it might be a good idea to switch to decaff after your first couple of mugs.
Now, onto the positives!
The first positive is the power coffee has to wake us up and make us more alert, allowing us to work harder, more attentively, and quicker than if we otherwise skipped out on our morning brew. Beyond the obvious though, coffee has a plethora of benefits like helping burn fat, suppressing appetite, maybe helping with the fight against a number of diseases and conditions, and is a fantastic source of antioxidants and essential nutrients like Vitamin B2.
So, whether you prefer a latte, mocha, or just a black americano, as long as you're enjoying it in moderation, keep on drinking!
