Back in 2016, moviegoers got their first taste of the "Merc with a Mouth" (no, X-Men Origins: Wolverine doesn't count) and it looks like he will finally be joining the likes of Spider-Man, Thor, and Captain America in the MCU.
It's tough to think of where exactly Deadpool's style of fourth-wall-breaking comedy will fit into the MCU, especially because it was also announced that Deadpool 3 will maintain it's R-rating, but if anyone can make it work, its Ryan Reynolds.
This announcement comes during a packed couple of years for Marvel, with Spider-Man 3, Thor 4, Doctor Strange 2, Black Panther 2, Captain Marvel 2, and not to mention the slew of new series hitting Disney Plus, all filming or releasing by 2022.
With such a busy schedule it's not surprising that Deadpool 3 won't be hitting theatres until at least 2023, but Marvel has a track record of superheroes being introduced in other films so we might see him a little soon than that (if we're lucky).
