Even as they struggled to get by, three amazing businesses, The Vintage Pony, Jay's Sticky Buns, and Chocolate Bombastic, stepped up with a pair of restriction-adherent Hot Chocolate Walk events that raised over $1300 for local charity, Bridget's Bunnies
Bridget's Bunnies helps families dealing with infant loss by providing "Comfort Kits" which include items for remembrance, direction, and compassion. Kits are provided free of charge thanks to the support of donors and amazing local initiatives like the recent Hot Chocolate Walk.
Kerry Howard, the owner of The Vintage Pony, said she and her husband were looking for a way to give back since moving to Barrie from the United Kingdom in 2018. Howard said Bridget’s story struck a chord since they also suffered a similar loss. “Losing our daughter McKenzie Rose was such an emotional part of our life 19 years ago,” said Howard. “Like Mat and Theresa, we wanted to help make sure other families were supported. Doing these events was a way to give back.”
