Burgers, wings, and all your favourite pub fare are just a call away. Here are some of the best places to get pub food during Locallicious 2023 (February 24 to March 10)!
1. British Arms ($20 & $30)
First up is British Arms with Locallicious menus for both lunch ($20) and dinner ($20)! Appetizers for both meals include flatbread with mushrooms, goat cheese & parm, saffron-scented crab & sausage cakes, and spiced root vegetable soup. For dessert, you'll get a vanilla cheesecake lollipop dipped in dark chocolate ganache & espresso crumble.
Dinner mains include delicious dishes like chimichurri marinated flank steak, maple glazed pork tenderloin, and roasted cornish hen. For lunch, you can enjoy the surf & turf burger, chimichurri beef or tofu tacos, or citrus thyme marinated chicken skewers. To see the full selection of dishes, check out the full menu!
2. Wickie's Pub ($25 & $30)
Wickie's Pub on Burton Ave and Grove St will also be offering both lunch and dinner menus for Locallicious. Start with your choice of soup, salad, or Buffalo chicken dip. Follow up your appetizer with one of four mains. For lunch ($25), you can enjoy a pea-meal & cheddar sandwich, Nashville chicken sandwich, Cali burger, or fish & chips. If you plan on coming in for dinner, you'll be able to choose between red ale beef stew, Cali burger, fish & chips, or linguine primavera. To finish things off, choose between strawberry champagne cheesecake or chocolate chip bread pudding!
3. Bull & Barrel ($35)
The Bull & Barrel Pub is next on our list of must-visit places to get pub food during Locallicious. Some highlights from their 3-course dinner menu include tomato vodka soup with basil creme, fish cakes, braised lamb shanks, and chicken escalope pane. For dessert, you have the option of a chocolate tart, apple crumble, or a Bull coffee. No matter what you're in the mood for, you're sure to find something that hits the spot.
4. Hooligans ($25)
If you're from Barrie (or even the surrounding area), we probably don't have to tell you about this downtown staple. What we can tell you about is Hooligans' tasty Localicious menu, available all day and night.
The 3-course menu includes classics like Hoolies Smashed Burger, Hoolies Chicken Tenders, and their sirloin baseball steak. Your meal will also come with a soup or salad and a chocolate Nutella brownie or slice of peanut butter pie. Yum!
5. The Flying Monkey Brewery ($20)
Another downtown Barrie staple that needs no introduction is Flying Monkey Brewery! For Locallicious, the brewpub is bundling your choice of soup, salad, or fries, with a homemade chocolate manifesto brownie and their Chicky-Chicky-Parm-Parm Sandwich. The sandwich is a marinated boneless skinless chicken breast grilled, topped with fresh marinara & mozzarella, and served on a crusty herb bun.
