A man is dead and a second person was arrested following a wild pursuit that began in Huntsville and ended in the Orillia area.
OPP say they responded to a break and enter at a commercial property in Huntsville around four on Tuesday morning.
Two males fled in a vehicle but were stopped when a spike belt was deployed by Orillia OPP.
According to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), the vehicle was stopped in the area of Line 7 North and Sideroad 15 and 16 in Oro Medonte.
Officers arrested one of the occupants, but the other entered a police vehicle and drove away.
The SIU says just after six this morning, on Sideroad 15 and 16, just west of Line 7 North, the vehicle rolled over. The driver, who is believed to be in his 40s, was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Three investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to the case.

The SIU is an arm’s length provincial agency called in to investigate whenever police are involved in an incident resulting in death, serious injuries or allegations of sexual assault.
