Sick of slow (or no) internet speed at your cottage in Muskoka? Well, good news because SpaceX's satellite internet coverage, Starlink, will hopefully be available to everyone on earth before the end of August.
Starlink is a satellite internet service that SpaceX boasts will achieve lighting fast, triple-digit download speeds with low latency thanks to its relatively low orbit when compared to similar services. The Starlink constellation currently has about 1,800 satellites orbiting the Earth and they hope to increase that to as many as 42,000 in the coming years, with global serviceability to be achieved in the coming months. They have also recently shipped over 100,000 terminals, which are needed on the ground to send and receive the satellites' signals.

"We've successfully deployed 1,800 or so satellites, and once all those satellites reach their operational orbit, we will have continuous global coverage, so that should be like... September time frame," said Gwynne Shotwell, president of SpaceX.
For anyone who likes spending a Friday afternoon working remotely from their cottage, the thought of steady, reliable internet coverage that won't cost you an arm and a leg, is sounding pretty fantastic.
