WKRP in Cincinnati star Howard Hesseman dies at 81 years old

The man who many remember as the perpetually tired, quick-witted, and sarcastic disc jockey on WKRP in Cincinnati has died.

Actor Howard Hesseman passed away on Saturday at the age of 81.

His manager says it was due to complications of colon surgery.

Hesseman played DJ Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP in Cincinnati from 1978-1982, a role which saw him win two Emmys for best-supporting actor.

Before acting, Hesseman was a real DJ at a rock station in the 1970s.

After WKRP ended, he went on to another comedy, Head of the Class, where he played history teacher Charlie Moore.

He appeared in several shows and movies throughout his career, including Police Academy 2: Their first assignment, About Schmidt, and That 70’s show.

Spotify adds a disclaimer while Joe Rogan addresses controversy

Spotify will add a disclaimer to some of its programs.

The company announced yesterday that they will now have a content warning ahead of any podcasts discussing COVID-19.

This shake-up started last week when rocker Neil young pulled his music from the platform for spreading misinformation about Covid-19.

Artists Joni Mitchel and Nils Lofgren from the E Street Band have also removed themselves from the platform.

Young took particular issue with Podcaster Joe Rogan and his show" The Joe Rogan Experience."

Joe Rogan has spoken out about the controversy with a video on his Instagram. He says, "I think there's a lot of people that have a distorted perception of what I do, maybe based on sound bites or based on headlines of articles that are disparaging."

He goes on to defend two doctors he has interviewed on the show, saying, "they are accomplished physicians who have a different opinion than the mainstream,"and he wanted to hear that opinion."

Rogan agrees with Spotify's decision to have a disclaimer at the beginning of programs where COVID-19 is discussed.

Rogan says that the show is about having conversation. "Not all the topics are always prepared. I promise to do more research and have all the pertinent facts at hand before I discuss them."
