Football is fine, but we got more than a few amazing movie trailers out of the Super Bowl and here are the ones you shouldn't miss.
Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
Lord of the Rings fans have been eagerly anticipating this new series ever since Amazing announced it a few years ago. It is set thousands of years before the events of the main trilogy or the prequel Hobbit movies. It is based on Tolkien's appendices, which provide a background in the history of various cultures of Middle-Earth. This means you can expect more original stories to come out of this series and maybe a few story beats to actually surprise even the most die-hard fans of the universe.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
The latest big-screen release in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this film not only sees the return of everyone's favourite wizard, Doctor Strange but also has fan favourites Wong (now the Sorcerer Supreme) and Scarlet Witch returning as well. This movie also sees a classic superhero director back in the driving seat: Sam Raimi, who is responsible for the original Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire!
Nope
While the plot for this film is being kept tightly under wraps, it will be the third movie to come from Oscar-winning writer-director, Jordan Peele. His first two films, Get Out and Us, were both praised endlessly (and rightfully so) for breathing new life into the horror genre by blending classic tropes with real-world issues like blackness and privilege. It stars Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun, and the trailer looks incredibly tantalizing. We can't wait to check this one out.
