Multiple weapons-related charges laid
OPP

OPP at Wasaga Beach used a taser to subdue a man who witnesses say was carrying a firearm in the town.

Police called Sunday morning, locating the man in a vehicle, but he fled as officers approached.

A chase ensued, during which the suspect vehicle wound up in a ditch.

Police say the man remained defiant; that's when a taser was used to bring him down.

A 23-year-old Wiarton man is facing numerous firearms-related charges.

A loaded weapon was confiscated.
