Elton John paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth at Toronto's Rogers Stadium.
John played his second show in the city last night, a few hours after word of the Monarch's passing.
He told the Rogers Centre crowd that the Queen led with "grace and decency" through some of his country's "greatest and darkest moments."
"At 75, she's been with me all my life." he said.
"I'm sad she won't be with me anymore. I send my love to her family and her loved ones. She will be missed. We celebrate her life tonight with music."
He then played his 1974 hit "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"
John has a very close relationship with the royal family.
The Queen Knighted him in 1998 for contributions to music and charitable organizations and his extensive charity work, particularly with AIDS research and financial support
At Princess Diana's funeral, he performed a rendition of "Candle in the Wind" in 1997.
