A Gravenhurst man is facing an impaired driving charge after colliding with a pole in Gravenhurst.

On Sunday, May 1, around 10:30 p.m., Bracebridge OPP say a member of the public called officers to report that a person had crashed their car into a concrete pole in a parking lot near Edward Street - causing the airbags to deploy.

Police say the driver was not injured.

After investigating, OPP say they arrested and charged a 76-year-old Gravenhurst man with impaired driving. His license has also been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded.

The accused will appear in Bracebridge court on May 31.
