Ryan Seacrest is scaling back on his insane schedule and is leaving "Live with Kelly and Ryan."
He's heading back to Los Angeles ahead of season 15 of American Idol, where he serves as a host.
Since joining "Live," Seacrest has been one of the busiest men in the industry by juggling Idol, his radio shows and "Live."
He and Kelly announced the news on "Live" Thursday morning, explaining the decision was made nearly a year ago.
Seacrest says being part of the show has been a great experience.
"Working alongside Kelly over the past six years has been a dream job and one of the highlights of my career. She has been an amazing partner, friend, and confidant, and although we will always be a part of each other's lives, I will miss our mornings together."
They announced that Kelly's husband, Mark Consuelos, will take over co-hosting duties with the show rebranded "Live with Kelly and Mark."
Kelly joked that she and Ryan are calling the matchup "The nation's weirdest social experiment" and that Mark can't wait to start to air some grievances.
Seacrest is happy to pass the torch to Mark, saying, "It's been a memorable ride, and now I'm excited to pass the baton to Kelly's 'real' husband, Mark."
Seacrest finale episode will be at the end of the season in a few months.
