A Black Mirror episode has inspired more people to 'actually' read the Netflix "terms & conditions."
The first episode of the latest season of "Black Mirror," titled "Joan is Awful," sees our main character, Joan, have her life broadcast to the world on the Netflix-inspired streaming service "Streamberry."
And it's all legal because she signed the "terms and conditions." However, like most people, she signed it without knowing exactly what it said.
In fairness, those terms and conditions are boring and written in legalese.
Netflix customers are using the episode as a warning and checking what they signed up for.
Reports say the online search for Netflix terms and conditions on Google jumped by 596% a few days after the episode aired.
According to the Huffington Post, we can rest easy because nothing in those conditions speaks about using our life as a reality show. But just in case, I better check.
