Ladies were all guilty of it. You're home alone, your partner is gone for the night, and the kids are at a sleepover. You head to the kitchen and make yourself a "Girl Dinner."

The newly coined "Girl Dinner" is a snack plate instead of a traditional meal. It's been discussed a lot on TikTok recently, although the idea isn't new.

At my house, I call it "no dinner, dinner."

A few months ago, the trend hit a stride when a woman posted about eating nuts, cheese, crackers and some fruit she called her ideal meal. She calls it "Girl Dinner, or "medieval peasant."

The minimal feast is only reserved for when you're alone.

Since then, countless women have posted how they do this exact thing, but it has many names, including Picky Bits.

A German term for it is Abendbrot, a German evening custom where the family gathers to eat bread.

One thing is clear; women love this idea. The thought of just throwing something together and not spending a lot of time cooking is a dream.

Some comments from followers include " I call it Village meal and pretend im staying in an Inn for the night."

"When i eat cheese and berries I call it my Rat Girl meal" another said.

This girl dinner is also known as ✨hot girl plate✨

Of course, it's already getting criticism, with doubters saying it promotes disordered eating and it's not a balanced meal.

I personally love doing this occasionally and saving traditional meals for family time.
