So begins the weekend showdown between the "Barbie" movie and "Oppenheimer," dubbed "Barbenheimer."
For weeks people have acted like two movies have never been released on the same weekend before, signally the competition between Greta Gerwig's colourful comedy "Barbie" and Christopher Nolan's historical thriller "Oppenheimer."
The chatter all over social media shows many will do a double feature throughout the weekend: music to movie theatres ears.
As of this morning, Cineplex in Canada says nearly 345,000 advance tickets have been purchased for the two films.
They can thank social media for that since "Barbenheimer has been trending online, adding to the hype of these two already well-reviewed movies.
