Say goodbye to the beige, understated farmhouse esthetic for Christmas, and welcome back the kitschy, colourful decor.
TikTok user Avery recently went viral when she said she wanted her holiday decor to scream nostalgia with multi-coloured lights and over-the-top decorations.
And, of course, tinsel. Lots and lots of tinsel.
For the last decade, minimalist decorations were the standard, but Avery says she no longer wants her house to look like a "Crate and Barrel showroom" and "will not be participating in minimalist, beige Christmas this year,"

"I want the lights, the mismatched ornaments, and the random wrapping paper" she said.
She showed a picture of what she wanted for her holiday vibe, and it's a lot of red with twinkly lights that scream old-school Christmas vibes.
She adds that the minimalist look is pretty and simple, but it's not for her anymore. Her video has garnered over a million views, and many feel the vibe too.

Comments on the video include
"I loved the minimalist Christmas until I had kids; now I want to make sure they experience the Christmas magic I did growing up."

"Christmas needs to be bright, sparkly , dare I say gaudy? it's the only thing that distracts me from dreary winter.
