Barrie man charged with failing to clear snow from vehicle

No word if it was a case of being too lazy, but a Barrie man has been charged for failing to clear snow from his vehicle.

Ontario Provincial Police pulled over the 39-year-old driver in the area of Highway 400 and Mapleview Drive on Thursday due to the amount of snow that covered his windows.

Police took the time to post to X to remind drivers they need to ensure all windows are clear of snow and ice when driving.

As for the motorist, he was charged with having no clear view out his side and rear windows.

No word on how much the driver was fined, though police previously have charged drivers $85 for operating vehicles without a clear view.

The Barrie area received between 10 and 15 cm of snow overnight Monday that resulted in school bus cancellations in Simcoe County.
