A driver is facing impaired charges after OPP say a classic car left the roadway and struck a group of trees in Tiny Township.
Last evening around 7:45 p.m., Southern Georgian Bay OPP arrived on the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Rue Lafontaine East.
Police found the vehicle - a 70's era Chevrolet Corvette with extensive damage - lodged in a forest about 25 metres off the road.
"The driver was spoken to and received care from Simcoe County Paramedics," OPP said in a release on Tuesday. "While investigating, officers gathered grounds to believe that the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment to provide breath samples."
A 50-year-old Penetanguishene woman was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired
- Operation over 80 Milligrams
She was released to appear in Midland court at a later date, and her driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days.
