Former Toronto Blue Jay Russell Martin now has his name etched in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
He was inducted at a ceremony presentation at the hall in St. Mary's on Saturday.
Those joining Martin for the 2024 class are Jimmy Key, also a former Blue Jay, Ashley Stephenson from the Canadian Women’s National Team, Howard Birnie, Paul Godfrey, and Rod Heisler.
Martin told Barrie 360 it's the highest honour for Canadian baseball.
"I'm super grateful," said Martin. "But for me, most importantly, I think it's a way of appreciating and giving thanks to the people that made an impact in my upbringing and my baseball journey."

Martin says it starts with his parents.
"Being able to share that with them - it's my name on the plaque and it's my picture, but I'm not there without them," Martin explained.
"And every other person that played an impact, whether it's a coach or a trainer or anything to do with performance or keeping me on the field or development. It's something I get to share with them and that's what I'm looking forward to."
The Canadian played on the Junior National Team in 2000, as well as the World Baseball Classic in 2009.
