A motorist who had their vehicle stolen from Honey Harbour Road in Port Severn around seven on Monday morning was able to track it using a built-in GPS, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), who reported to authorities where the driver was headed.
Police say the vehicle was located near Highway 26 and County Road 10 in Clearview Township, west of Stayner, were officers attempted a traffic stop. The driver ignored those efforts, and police say the vehicle struck a fence, jumped a ditch and continued in the direction of Wasaga Beach. Eventually, OPP located the vehicle again, this time on Shore Lane in Wasaga Beach, where the driver ditched the vehicle and fled on foot, but was soon caught.
During the arrest, police say officers seized a quantity of fentanyl.
