After speaking with the driver, the officer opened an impaired-driving investigation. Police arrested the man and took him to a local detachment for further testing, and they say the investigation uncovered several additional offences.

The New Dundee resident was also charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand, breach of recognizance, driving a vehicle or a boat with cannabis readily available, driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor, driving a vehicle with the plate not plainly visible, driving a motor vehicle without a validated permit, failing to surrender a permit for a motor vehicle, and failing to surrender an insurance card.

The suspect was held for a court appearance in Orillia.
