Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for a group of three from Simcoe County. They matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the June 8, 2022 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $100,000!

The three friends who work in healthcare together have known each other for almost 20 years. They’ve been playing the lottery together for 10 years and choose their numbers based on a combination of upcoming birthdays.
Edna is the one who discovered the big win. "I was at home when I checked our ticket using the OLG App and thought we won $100," she said. "When I texted a screenshot of the photo to the girls, I took a closer look and noticed the comma and all the zeroes!"
"We stopped with the group text and started making phone calls,” said Jacinta. “I feel like I already spent this money before we got it,” she laughed. “I couldn’t sleep, so I was up all-night spending it in my mind.”
Penny said it was perfect timing for her because now she can pay off the car she recently purchased. “I wasn’t entirely comfortable purchasing my car – so in that moment, I knew it was paid for,” she smiled.
Edna plans to put her winnings toward her mortgage and save for retirement and Jacinta will invest for the future and pay some bills.
The group plans to continue to play the lottery together as a way to stay connected.
