Sasquatch University returns for second season, host says new evidence and discoveries in store

A second season of Sasquatch University is set to premiere on Monday, with host Ryan Willis saying more discoveries are in store this go around.

The documentary-style series focuses on the search for Sasquatch in Ontario, and the team from Trent University's Sasquatch Society even stopped by Simcoe County to investigate possible evidence of the human-like, mythical creature.

"It's been so much fun getting to film this year," Willis told Barrie 360. "We had a better year, in my opinion, in terms of finding evidence and proving to everybody that Sasquatches are here in Ontario."

One of the biggest changes in the approach for season two was the increased time spent in the field.

"Last season, we did a great job talking to witnesses and people who had encounters but at the same time, that only gets you so far," said Willis. "The only way you're really going to have success finding a Sasquatch is by getting out in the field and spending most of your time looking, and that's really what we tried to focus on more this year."

The first season of Sasquatch University received a positive reception, according to Willis, with many viewers reaching out to share their encounters. He noted the snowball effect of people watching the show and contacting the team, which helped them track possible sightings and know where to focus their search efforts.

The team also upgraded their equipment for season two, including the addition of a parabolic microphone that can detect sounds up to 500 feet away. Willis says it enhanced their ability to pick up Sasquatch chatter or distant howls.

He added this season will explore new dimensions of Sasquatch research, including the paranormal side of encounters.

"We spent a few episodes doing it kind of the more mainstream, old-fashioned way of looking for Bigfoot," explained Willis. "We brought out psychic mediums with us. We did all sorts of things to try to find a Sasquatch."

On top of Simcoe County, Willis says the team spent considerable time in regions like Muskoka, Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough, Algonquin Highlands, and even up near North Bay. He hinted at one particular discovery involving footage from an investigation near Algonquin Highlands.

"We've been to so many places this season, it wasn't the only interesting thing we came across," said Willis. "All these areas have a lot going on and more and more evidence comes in. In my opinion, Sasquatch is in all these places."

You can catch the season premiere on Wild TV at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 30th.

Willis encourages anyone who has had an encounter or sighting to reach out via their website as the team continues to gather evidence of the elusive creature.
