Apartment fire in Orillia, one person taken to hospital

One person was transported to a local hospital by paramedics following fire at an apartment building in Orillia.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, Ontario Provinial Police (OPP) said first responders were called to the structure fire on West Street North between Borland Street and Jarvis Street.

The fire was quickly put out, but OPP said one person was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

As of around 5:30 pm, West Street North was closed between Borland Street and Jarvis Street for the investigation.
