Fire in washroom at Barrie high school

Out in the cold for about 1,000 students at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie as emergency crews responded to a fire in a washroom around 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Students found shelter next door at the Allandale Recreation Centre.

A fire department spokesperson told Barrie 360 the blaze was small and had been put out by someone using a fire extinguisher by the time firefighters arrived.

There were no injuries.

The spokesperson said the cause of the fire is unknown.
