The 10th Annual Mind to Muscle Cup will being played for July 22 at the Allandale Recreational Centre. Mind to Muscle is organizing the event in partnership with the Barrie Minor Hockey Association (BMHA) and the Barrie Women’s Hockey Association (BWHA).
This year’s game supports the Barrie Food Bank, of which usage has doubled in the past two years. Purolator, Domino’s, and the Barrie Colts are collaborating with organizers for the cause.
It's a rematch from 2024 between a team representing Purolator and one representing Dominos, continuing a 'rivalry' organizers are hoping will continue with this event for years to come.

THE CAUSE
Tackling hunger within the Barrie community is the clear mission of this event, and the need to do so keeps growing.
The Barrie Food Bank saw 7,460 visits in May alone, an increase of 17 per cent year over year. Of those, 742 were for emergency food support.
About 35 per cent of visitors to the food bank are children under 18 years old, while around five per cent are seniors.
It does not rely on government funding, therefore it is relying on events like this to garner generous donations from others in the community.
Earlier this year, the Barrie Food Bank organized the Home Runs for the Hungry charity baseball game along with the Barrie Baycats and City of Barrie Councillor Craig Nixon. It was the most successful edition of the game yet in terms of donation volume.
