(Updated) Mystery no more. Barrie police say car-pedestrian collision resolved, no charges

UPDATED:

Barrie police say an investigation into a car-pedestrian collision at Big Bay Point Road and Hurst Drive on Monday afternoon has been resolved, and no charges will be laid.

Police tweeted on X Tuesday morning that there were no injuries and all those involved have been identified.

Barrie Police are asking for the public's help in a car-pedestrian collision on Monday in which both the victim and the driver failed to remain.

Police say a teenage girl was struck around 3:53 p.m. at Big Bay Point Road and Hurst Drive.

The girl was walking through the intersection, heading southbound, while the motor vehicle was turning westbound.

She's described as white, with brown hair, between the ages of 12 and 15 years old, wearing a dark sweater, a multi-coloured backpack, and shorts.

Anyone who can assist in identifying and locating the victim, and any witnesses who observed the incident, are asked to contact the Barrie Police Traffic Unit.
