Gussapolooza is turning up the volume this summer with Rock 95's Home Grown Battle of the Bands on Friday, August 22, 2025.
Hosted by Rock 95’s own Craig Ross and Rachel Detta, the event promises a full day of music, competition, and surprises.
This year’s Home Grown contest saw more than 100 submissions from across the region, all vying for a coveted spot in the finals. After weeks of judging and fan engagement, five bands have risen to the top:
- Dorene
- Cold Weather Captains
- Feura
- The Howlin’ Gales
- Live Animals
Each act brings its own unique sound, from indie grooves and country rock to grunge-driven alt, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown.
The stakes?
The winning band will walk away with an impressive prize package, including:
- Radio play on Rock 95
- A performance slot at Gussapolooza 2026
- An opening set at a Rock 95–presented concert
- An exclusive consultation with the team behind The Trews and Sam Roberts Band at Known Accomplice Records
Want in on a little secret?
The first 95 people through the gates who say the password “Home Grown” will get free general admission for Friday (12 PM–12 AM). This doesn’t include camping or weekend passes, so plan accordingly — and yes, you’ve got to be quick because spots will go fast!
