Reminder: marine advisory for Midland Bay ahead of RCAF Snowbirds demonstration

A marine advisory is being issued for the time period between the hour of 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday to restrict vessel traffic on Midland Bay to facilitate an air show over Midland Bay by The Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds known as 431 Air Demonstration Squadron.

Marine security of the event will be conducted by a number of OPP marine patrol vessels with the assistance of Anishinabek Police Service (APS) Marine Unit, Beausoleil Fire Service, Georgian Bay Fire Service, Parks Canada, Simcoe County Paramedic Service, Midland Fire Service, The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC).  

During the times of the event, only emergency services vessels and personnel will be permitted to operate within a set out area as follows in the attached exclusion map.

Viewing from Land

Recommended land based viewing locations for the show can be found in a social media post by the Town of Midland.

Viewing from the Water Restrictions

  • For the safety of the public and airshow pilots, a safety line will be formed from Midland Point to the north and Tiffin Bay to the south. Water access and water-based activities will be restricted in the area of the west side of the entrance to Midland Bay during the following time. All other vessels are advised to stay clear of this area
  • Wednesday September 10, 2025, between 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

No Drone Zone

The airspace will be restricted on September 10, 2025, during the hours of the show. For the safety of all involved, flying of drones or any radio-controlled aircraft anywhere in the area is strictly prohibited.

Personal Safety

For the personal safety of all spectators, please consider the following recommendation

  • Wear ear protection, especially for children

Remember, if you see a possible impaired operator "Make the Call" and dial 911 and help prevent a marine tragedy and always have an eye to the sky for changing weather conditions.
