The Township of Tiny officially broke ground today on its long-anticipated Township of Tiny Administrative Centre (TTAC) — a modern, energy-efficient facility that will unite municipal services, enhance community access, and support the Township’s vision for responsible, sustainable growth.

Members of Council, the TTAC Committee, and representatives from Unity Design Studio and Bertram Construction gathered at the site to celebrate this historic milestone.

Located at 255 Concession 9 East, across from the Public Works Complex, the new net-zero Administrative Centre will bring together all municipal staff under one roof, improving operational efficiency, customer service, and collaboration. The facility is designed not only as an administrative hub but as a community gathering place — with both indoor and outdoor spaces that encourage civic engagement and connection.

A Modern, responsible investment

Mayor David Evans emphasized that the TTAC represents “a new era in service delivery,
innovation, and community connection.”

“This project is not just about bricks and mortar,” said Mayor Evans. “It’s an investment i
better service, staff efficiency, and a welcoming, accessible experience for every resident. The
TTAC reflects Tiny’s broader vision — a community that plans carefully, protects its
environment, and invests wisely in services that enhance quality of life.”

The new Administrative Centre will also help reduce long-term leasing and maintenance costs,
supporting fiscal sustainability while offering a modern, inclusive space for residents and staff.
The Township of Tiny continues to maintain one of the lowest tax rates in Simcoe County and
strong financial reserves, ensuring the project is delivered responsibly and within its means.

Commitment to sustainability and accessibility

The TTAC has been designed to achieve net-zero energy performance while meeting the
highest standards for accessibility and environmental stewardship. Its design includes
sustainable construction practices, efficient energy systems, and flexible community spaces.
The Township has also applied for funding through the Green Municipal Fund Grant to help
support this commitment.

To date, key milestones have included:

  • Thorough and successful Environmental Impact Study, Archaeological Study,
Transportation Impact Study, and Hydrological, Hydrogeological, and Water
    Assessments
  • Site clearing, grubbing, and initial site preparations
  • Overall building design
  • Submission for Green Municipal Fund Grant
  • Four Public Information Centres (PICs) seeking community feedback
  • Establishment of the Township of Tiny Administrative Centre Ad Hoc Committee to help
review plans and make recommendations on the internal and external public features of
    the facility.

A symbol of pride and progress

When completed, the TTAC will serve as a symbol of civic pride and progress — providing a
welcoming home for staff, residents, and community groups. The facility will include multiple
multi-purpose community rooms for recreation programming, events, and private functions,
reinforcing Tiny’s focus on community wellness and connection.

“More than a building, the TTAC will be a home for civic engagement and collaboration — a
lasting reminder that when we plan thoughtfully and invest wisely, we create real value for our
community,” said Mayor Evans.
