
A road rage incident in Bradford West Gwillimbury escalated into a physical assault and multiple criminal charges after South Simcoe Police responded to reports on Tuesday morning.
Verbal Dispute Turns Violent
At approximately 11:15 a.m. on October 28, South Simcoe Police Uniform Patrol officers were dispatched following multiple 911 calls about aggressive driving and a confrontation between the drivers of two vehicles on Highway 400 northbound. The incident continued onto the County Road 88 off-ramp, where the drivers of a grey Audi AQ3 and a black Acura RDX pulled over and engaged in a verbal dispute.
During the altercation, a third vehicle—a grey Dodge Ram—was seen driving the wrong way on the on-ramp. A man exited the Dodge Ram and approached the Audi driver, who police say was subsequently assaulted.
Charges Laid Against Two Bradford Residents
South Simcoe Police laid multiple criminal charges against the drivers of the Acura and Dodge.
A 51-year-old man from Bradford was charged with:
- Dangerous Operation (2 counts)
- Robbery
- Intimidation
- Assault
- Causing a Disturbance
- Stunt Driving
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 30 days, and his vehicle impounded for 14 days.
A 43-year-old woman from Bradford was also charged with:
- Intimidation
- Causing a Disturbance
- Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Hand-Held Communication Device
- Interfering with Traffic
