The Town of Innisfil is pleased to announce that this year’s ‘Scrooge the Ticket’ campaign raised $8,430 including $80 worth of new toys. Between November 15 and 29, anyone who received an Innisfil parking ticket had a unique alternative: instead of paying the fine, they could donate to charity.

As a result of this campaign, the Troy Scott Community Fridges and Innisfil Food Bank each received $4,130.

“Scrooge the Ticket has become an annual holiday tradition that helps bring joy and relief to families in our community,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “I’m grateful to our Municipal Law Enforcement Officers for continuing to bring this initiative forward and to our residents for their generous support.”

“Being chosen to receive proceeds from the Scrooge the Ticket campaign is a privilege for the Innisfil Food Bank,” says Donna Sawyer, Innisfil Food Bank Coordinator. “This funding comes at an opportune time, as the holiday season often brings even greater need.”

Since its inception 11 years ago, Scrooge the Ticket has raised nearly $50,000 in cash donations, new toys, and non-perishable food items to support the local community.
