A few Canadian Tire's experienced an odd glitch in their system...

It's so nice to have a big strong spud around the house

Customers at Canadian Tire locations in Lindsay and Whitby faced a weird issue yesterday when every single item that was scanned at checkout was coming up as "Mr. Potato Head".

Whether the customer was buying new hockey sticks, a new BBQ, or some new kitchen appliances, every item was being scanned as "Mr. Potato Head". According to a communications representative from Canadian Tire, item numbers and prices were still correct, but every item name was incorrectly coming up as the well-known children's toy.

The issue has since been corrected but a number of customers had to leave empty-handed before it could be fixed (unless of course, they were actually buying a Mr. Potato Head).
